On January 1st 2021 the UK will no longer be a member of the EU Single Market or of the EU Customs Union, this means that trade between the UK and the EU will on the whole be subject to the same conditions as those currently between the UK and the rest of the world.

From January 1st 2021 businesses importing and exporting goods to and from the EU, will need to complete an import/export declaration to get their goods through customs – following the same procedure as currently applies to rest of the world. This process will be managed electronically by us and will require all clients to appoint us as their nominated Customs Clearance agent and provide VAT, EORI and Deferment details to expedite the process.

We have created a simple form and clients can download the ‘Authority for a Customs Clearance Agent to act as Direct Representative’ form – Click Here – and follow the guidelines to complete.
