How recycling our unwanted IT equipment helps save the planet…

Our pledge to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030 means that we are acutely aware of our office electrical waste and how we dispose of it. Refurbishing, repurposing, and recycling are all part of our overall environmental strategy and we recently contacted PRM Green Technologies to advise on a variety of redundant IT equipment.

We chose PRM Green Technologies because they offer a socially responsible and ethical recycling and upcycling practice and adhere to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE). All transfers are secure and waste transfer notes are supplied, data destruction is forensic and certified, and all waste is tested and sorted for re-usable componentry on obsolete or faulty items – with the aim being to re-use as much as possible.

Through this scheme, we are helping to reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfill, which in turn prevents toxic waste being released by the electrical items into the environment. Reusing the components from these items results in reducing demand for brand new components and a consequential reduction in carbon usage in manufacturing.

This time we were able to send all this redundant kit for processing:
