Every Friday is Feature Friday here at Flight Logistics where we chose an artist or gallery of interest and introduce them to our online communities across the socials; encouraging visits, follows, and likes for each one. Most of them offer something a little different from mainstream practices.

If you are unaware of Purslane, then we are very happy to be introducing this highly interesting gallery to you. Born out a desire by founder Charlie Siddick to raise funds for “Blueprint for All” (which used to be known as the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust) it has become what many people perceive as the new gallery model of the future.

Here is an organisation with one eye on the arts supporting up and coming artists, and the other on social and environmental causes. There’s a real sense of fair play. They have a revolutionary and truly philanthropic attitude to how they operate with 25% of all sales going to a roster of charitable causes, 50% to the artist and 25% back to the gallery.

Artwork by Orfeo Tagiuri | Adelina Sasnauskaite | Lily Macrae

Each event offered by the gallery has a fund-raising element to it. For example, a solo presentation of work by Orfeo Tagiuri called ‘Little Passing Thoughts’, is raising funds for The Mental Health Foundation, and ‘Honey I’m home’ featuring work by Adelina Sasnauskaite supports Solace Women’s Aid.
