It’s impossible to explain the feeling of being looked in the eye and being told “it’s cancer, surgery is the only option”.
According to Bowel Cancer UK, bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK with over 42,000 people diagnosed and 16,000 dying from it every year. It is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK. With these statistics it’s not something any of us can ignore!
In a bid to raise money to help current and future sufferers of this terrible disease, our Marcomms Manager (the recipient of the words above) and his wife set up a Just Giving page and successfully took part in the sponsored five mile walk today as part of Bowel Cancer UK’s “Walk Together 2020”.
Having been diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2019 he had surgery in March of 2020, right smack in time for lockdown. Flight are a progressive company and he has been able to work from home since.
