It has become apparent to us through changes to product lines and the ways that some of our clients are marketing their brands, that producer and consumer attitudes towards selling and buying are changing.
There’s an obvious uplift by our e-commerce clients towards committing environmentally friendly measures into their products, packing and shipping processes. Over the coming weeks we’ll take a quick look at some of these examples and some of the actions they’ve put in place.

Case Study – ecostrawz

In 2013, before the masses woke up to the plastic threat, Andy Cook – founder of ecostrawz – started working on his mission to get individuals and businesses around the world to drastically reduce and eventually eradicate their use of disposable, single-use, plastic drinking straws.
Three years after that ecostrawz had sold over 100,000 reusable drinking straws worldwide, today this figure is now standing at over 1 million!
Ecostrawz produce and distribute stylish eco-friendly, reusable drinking straws. Their range which they supply globally to retail & trade, includes Stainless Steel, Bamboo, Glass, Wheat & Titanium designs.

To enhance the brand, ecostrawz supply their own packing. Boxes are made from recycled material and are both biodegradable and recyclable. Flight Logistics even sourced eco-friendly paper tape to secure outer packing and eco-friendly void fill to protect the items inside.
“It was important for us to choose a logistics company that had shared values of CSR, environmental credentials and a wealth of experience. We didn’t want a company that just got orders out. Flight Logistics Group Ltd was the right choice and they offer the support we were after. They manage the storage of our stock, order processing, fulfilment and distribution. They’re also keen to help promote our business.”
