As further size restrictions are imposed on us by the UK overnight networks, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the individual parcel size and weight restrictions that we have been flagging up since June this year.
We have been getting away with a few oversize or heavy ones for many of our clients, but this is no longer going to be the case, and here are the absolute parameters, outside of which we will have to use a freight network for which potentially significant additional costs will apply.
No single item can exceed 30kg on the standard overnight networks/tariffs. Anything over that will have to be sent as freight and charged accordingly.
Items up to 125cm in one dimension are fine (down from 160cm). **Please note: for timed deliveries the maximum is 120cm**
Maximum standard dims are 125 in one dimension, with the other two dims not totalling more than 100cm, so that Length plus Width plus Height <=225cm.
For items between 125 and 160cm long we can use a Non Conveyable service for an additional charge. However the other two dimensions cannot exceed 60cm each.
If your item falls between these parameters: over 160 x 60 x 60cm, but less than 205 x 30 x 30cm, (and still less than 30kg) then we can use an XS service, which incurs a different surcharge.
Anything over 205cm, or that doesn’t fit in with the 30 x 30 maximum other dims for XS, or 60 x 60 maximum other dims for NC – will now have to be quoted on a separate freight service on a case by case basis.
We continue to seek out a single solution for all of this – but all the carriers have implemented these restrictions – and for many of them the maximum conveyable dimension is 100cm now.
