The Other Art Fair, Saatchi Art, and curator Ben Moore have united to help raise much needed funds for MAG (Mines Advisory Group) whose mission is to clear landmines and unexploded bombs from conflict-affected communities.

One small step can be the difference between life and death, and it’s this message that has become the appellation for a unique exhibition that will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing in July 1969.

‘One Small Step’ exhibition

The ‘One Small Step’ exhibition will feature 12 astronaut helmets (one for each man who has walked on the moon since 1969) transformed into works of art by 12 leading artists. The helmets plus a selection of limited-edition prints will be part of an online auction hosted by Paddle8, with all proceeds going to MAG.

“Every day, twenty people are still being killed or injured by landmines and unexploded bombs, so we’re thrilled to be able to raise vital funds for our work through this unique and exciting exhibition.” – Jane Cocking CEO of MAG

Participating artists

Anish Kapoor, Joana Vasconcelos, Alison Jackson, D*Face, Mr. Brainwash, Bran Symondson, UnSKilled Worker, Philip Colbert, Hayden Kays, Ben Eine, Dan Baldwin and Chris Levine.

Example helmets by artists: Philip Colbert, Hayden Kays, Joana Vasconcelos

Where to see and buy the helmets

The exhibition will be featured at The Other Art Fair, from 4 – 7 July. The online auction will start on 4 July and will close on 22 July (the anniversary of the moon landing).
